ChineseCensorProgram (CCP) Discord Bot - Terms of Service
Last Updated: Feb 4, 2025
Welcome to the ChineseCensorProgram (CCP) Discord bot! By inviting and using CCP on your server, you agree to the following Terms of Service (ToS). If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use or invite CCP to your Discord server.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By adding the ChineseCensorProgram (CCP) bot to your Discord server, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and any additional guidelines or policies that may be posted by the bot's creators (hereafter referred to as "we," "us," or "the bot"). These Terms are subject to change, and you are responsible for reviewing them regularly.
2. Bot Usage
- Permitted Usage: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the CCP bot on your Discord server for moderation purposes. This includes the bot’s intended function of censoring content.
- Prohibited Usage: You may not use CCP for illegal activities, harassment, abuse, or any purpose that violates Discord's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. This includes using the bot to censor or manipulate content in ways that infringe upon the rights of others or create a toxic or unsafe environment.
3. Data Collection & Privacy
- Data Collection: CCP collects chat history for the purpose of generating a "Social Credit Score" based on user activity and content moderation. This feature is optional. You can opt out by not granting the bot permission to read chat history when inviting it to your server. We do not collect personally identifiable information unless explicitly stated.
- Data Usage: The data collected will be used solely for calculating the Social Credit Score and improving the bot's moderation capabilities. The Social Credit Score may be shared with users on the server or administrators for review.
- Third-Party Services: CCP may use third-party services to process data. These services will have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
4. Bot Behavior & Functionality
- Moderation Features: CCP’s core function is to moderate and censor potentially harmful or inappropriate content on your server. It includes filtering specific keywords, phrases, and content that might be flagged as offensive or disruptive.
- Limitations: The bot’s filtering system is not perfect. It may flag content inaccurately, and the bot may not catch every instance of inappropriate content. It is recommended to use additional moderation tools alongside CCP for optimal results.
- Customization: You may configure the bot’s behavior to suit your server’s needs, including enabling or disabling specific features such as automatic content filtering or custom keyword lists.
5. Server Moderation
- Moderation Role: The bot may have access to the server’s text channels and direct messages to moderate content. Ensure that the bot's permissions align with your server’s policies and that it is set up to avoid unnecessary disruption to your community.
- Bot Commands: The bot is equipped with commands that allow users and administrators to interact with it. Admins can set custom rules, manage banned keywords, and track moderation logs.
6. Liability
- No Liability: The creators of CCP are not liable for any damages caused by the bot’s actions, including but not limited to, lost data, server disruptions, user dissatisfaction, or other negative impacts resulting from its use.
- No Warranty: The bot is provided "as is," with no guarantees or warranties regarding its functionality, uptime, or accuracy in censoring content. Features may not always be functional, and the bot may experience periods of downtime. We are not responsible for downtime, bugs, errors in the bot's operation, or any other technical issues that may arise.
7. User Conduct
- Respectful Use: By using CCP, you agree to follow Discord's Community Guidelines and encourage all users on your server to engage respectfully and responsibly.
- Inappropriate Use: Any attempt to bypass, exploit, or misuse the bot’s features, including tampering with the filtering system, will result in termination of your access to the bot.
8. Modifications & Termination
- Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of CCP at any time, without prior notice. Changes will be reflected in these Terms of Service.
- Termination: We may suspend or terminate your access to CCP if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service or engaged in activities that are harmful to the community or the bot’s operation. You can also choose to revoke CCP’s access to your server at any time by removing the bot.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the CCP developers, Discord, and affiliated parties from any claim, liability, damage, or expense arising out of your use of the bot, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
